Maxophone were born in Milan in 1973 by two groups with different musical experience brought together.
Such cultural exchange generated a personal and overall enrichment leading to worship and master ensemble music rathar then individual virtuosity.
It took two years to put together and refine their musical skills and in 1975 they recorded their first album (LP).
The band was producing culture, it was a brand new way to make music that even without being supported by success, it was able to approach the US market still fulfilling the demand for more qualified music.
In July 1976 they performed at the 10th edition of Montreaux Festival along with prestigious artists like Weather Report and Billy Cobham. Later on they went on tour across Italy with Area and Eugenio Finardi.
The band split up in 1977.
In 2006 a DVD/CD ‘From Cocoon to Butterfly’, containing a selection of ten inedited recordings from 1973 to 1975 and some rare videos of concerts at Tourin RAI TV studios, was published.
Afterwards the band held a pomotional live performance.
